A kind-hearted, yet rough around the edges Desert Ranger, Sophia Bratislav, or rather, Fox, is visiting Shady Sands to discuss unifying the NCR's Rangers and Freelance Desert Rangers, all extremely skilled warriors. She has no personal guard, and her skill in combat is matched only by the shortness of her temper. She prefers to fight with a handgun and a knife, though, her style is missing the ability to counter enemy attacks. It's speculated that she's likely a lesbian, due to her "butch" mannerisms, and her skill in combat. She is one of the few people in the Wasteland who could be considered to have "Very Good", or "Saintly" Karma. She's rather tall for a woman, her height an impressive 6.5 feet. Fox is also somewhat obsessed with Pre-War culture, specifically black and white movies, and posters. She has a strong hatred for slavers, particularly the Great Kahns, because she was raised as a slave, and suffered undernourishment, regular beatings, and backbreaking labor. After escaping, she drifted for years, and eventually found work as a stripper in the Desperado Club of New Reno. Her refusal to fully undress and work as an "escort" outside the club cost her the job, two years after her employment. She had plenty of money, and bought an old nine millimeter that looked like a Colt, but was actually a Star Model B. She would later find out her name, Sophia, upon finding the wreckage of Speedy Fox Caravans for which she was named after by her Kahn "owner", Rico, and the desiccated corpses of her parents, reading through her father's journal. She buried their bodies, and claimed her father's watch, her birthright.
The Massacre at Shady Sands returned her to a self-sufficient, uncaring, uncompromising state, one that she hasn't seen since her younger years. Her "short" temper, is now nonexistant, as anyone who so much as looks at her the wrong way, gets a bullet to the face. Sophia, now only goes by Fox, and not her real name, as she once preferred, this is because she believes Sophia died with her fellow Rangers at Shady Sands. Fox currently does "Odd Jobs" for the Bishop Family, who now completely own all of New Reno's drug, prostitution, and gambling "industries". Only taking orders from John Bishop himself, her current task has her dealing with a group of red-wearing, tattooed hoods who've recently moved in south of Reno, offering newer, stronger drugs, at low, low prices. As of right now, her Karma could be considered to be at the "Bad" level. She quickly became introduced, and hooked on Jet, and suffers severe withdrawal, if she goes within an hour without being under the influence.
After meeting with the friends she had met at Shady Sands, Fox's old, happier, optimistic side reared it's much-needed head. After winning a prizefight against the legendary boxer, the Masticator, and somewhat kicking her addiction, however, it took a good deal of the muscle and fitness she had before she got hooked, due to one's inability to eat while hopped up on Jet, not to mention the still-present withdrawal symptoms, causing flashbacks, and facial orifice bleeding.
She walks with a limp, due to a friendly-fire incident with grenades, on behalf of Gaius Wolf. She still has no knowledge that Gaius perpetrated this act.
In D.C, she took a fifty caliber round to the head, the bullet having went through both the wall she was taking cover behind and her helmet. She suffered moderate brain damage from this, and has difficulties speaking and writing. However, in her thoughts, she is perfectly capable of forming the sentences, leading her to much anger over her inability to communicate.
In the alternate ending, Fox was spared, but the left side of her face and upper body were badly burnt, and a Legion torturer cut off her pinky and ring finger on her left hand. She hides her burn scars with her hair and resides in Zion, acting as War Chief for the Dead Horses.
